The length of time a cake stays fresh depends on a number of factors - the type of cake (some have more moisture content) and how you store it. Most of my cakes can be enjoyed for up to 4 days, but are at their best if eaten within 48 hours. Although, my rich buttermilk chocolate cake, which is a deliciously gooey moist cake will be just as yummy 5 or 6 days later (if you haven't eaten it all by then of course)!! Cakes should be kept boxed and stored somewhere cool (away from any direct sunlight), any exposed cake should be tightly wrapped in cling film to keep it fresh. Cakes should NOT be kept in the fridge, especially after they are cut - storing your cake in the fridge removes moisture making them stale much quicker!
I'm often asked this question and the answer is YES, you can freeze leftover cake! Cupcakes are the easiest things to freeze and works really well. How do you freeze them without squishing the decorations I hear you say?! Simple, pop a cupcake (or cupcakes) on a flat plate uncovered and place them in the freezer for about 30 minutes until they are firm, then wrap them individually in cling film (make sure you get them nicely sealed without any trapped air). Now you can put your wrapped cakes into a freezer bag and seal it. When you fancy a treat or you get a surprise family visit, just take a cake out, unwrap it and leave it on a plate on your kitchen counter to defrost for about an hour and hey presto - delicious cake ready to enjoy!! Cakes will keep well in the freezer for 2-3 months if stored correctly. You can follow the same process for slices of cake too!
Yes, collection is always welcome. Please note that if someone other than the main contact is collecting the cake, they will need to sign a release form to confirm they have checked the cake and it is leaving in good order. See my Terms and Conditions for more information.

Because all my cakes are totally individual and tailored specifically for you, prices depend on the amount of decorations (which are all handmade) and the complexity of the design you'd like. If you have a specific budget let me know and I can work out a design to suite your needs and price range. To give you an idea my simpler Buttercream cakes start from £45 for 6" vanilla and my Chocolate Insanity Cakes start at £60 for a 6" - check out my gallery for ideas. Bespoke cakes start from £100.
Yes, I use freshly laid eggs from my own backyard chickens and ducks! On occasion when I have very large quantities of cakes to bake and my girls aren't able to keep up with the demand, I buy local free range eggs.
Yes, I can cater for vegans and or gluten-free or just dairy free. Please note though that while most of my cakes do not contain nuts, because I keep nut products in my kitchen I cannot guarantee they do not contain small traces. All of my cakes come with a full list of ingredients and allergens. While I do not have a specific range of diabetic cakes some cakes can be made with a slightly reduced sugar content on request.
You can use my booking form or enquiry form to request a quote or of course just give me a call. Bookings will be confirmed once you have accepted a quote and I confirmed the details on the booking form and paid the required deposit. I will then confirm receipt and your cake will be booked in my calendar. Please note that I am unable to save a date without a deposit payment.
I am always happy for customers to send images of the type of cakes they like but please be aware I don't copy other people's work - I can however, create you something along a similar line but unique and made with my own spin just for you.
