Booking Confirmations:
Upon confirming your order, I will send you a booking confirmation form, along with payment details for your deposit. It is your responsibility to read through the form, checking dates/times and spelling of names to ensure all details are correct. Receipt of your deposit acknowledges your agreement that the information is correct. A little bit Naughty is not responsible for any spelling mistakes made and or not corrected by the customer.
Best Before Dates:
Please note that many cakes, especially fondant covered cakes with bespoke decorations require several days to bake, stack, ice and decorate. Cakes will be made to ensure they are at their best for consumption at your event or for your pre- arranged day of delivery/collection. It is therefore not recommended to for collection more than 24 hours before the cake is going to be consumed. Please take this into account when booking your collection date. As cakes are baked with fresh ingredients and no artificial preservatives they do not keep as long as supermarket cakes.
Storage of Cakes:
Cakes should be kept cool but not refrigerated as placing cake in the fridge will reduce moisture drying the sponge and making the cake go stale quicker. Once cakes have been cut any leftovers should be highly wrapped in cling film to prevent air from drying it out. If you wish to keep the cake for longer it is recommended to cut the cake into slices, wrap individually and place in a freezer bag - cake can be frozen for up to 3 months.
Non-Edible Items
Some cakes contain small proportions of inedible items, it is the clients responsibility to ensure these are removed by you or your caterer before consumption.
For example, cake dowels between tiers of stacked cakes, ribbons, wires in sugar flowers and also some models contain cocktail sticks or plastic lolly sticks through the centre for stability. Large standing models are made from Saracino modelling paste but will have an internal wire frame and are not meant to be consumed. Models can be kept indefinitely if kept dry and out of direct sunlight.
Summer Months:
Please be cautious when considering chocolate cakes during summer months (June-August). We cannot accept responsibility for cakes melting once they have left our possession, as we have no control over the temperature at your venue.
Amending an Order:
Please ensure that if you decide you’d like to change your cake design, any required amendments are requested in writing if possible 1 month before delivery/collection. We will endeavour to adjust your design where possible, but please bear in mind this may not be possible depending on the requirement and amount of notice given. If the change affects the cost, or preparation work for the original design has already been started, your balance will be adjusted accordingly.
Delivery:
Delivery charges are calculated on a mileage and time required. Alternatively, cakes can be collected from our premises.
If you choose delivery, it is our intention that your cake will be delivered in perfect condition
prior to the start of your reception. However we ask for patience with factors that may be beyond our control (e.g. traffic conditions) as we cannot be held liable for any such delays. In some circumstances, we may recommend the cake is delivered 1 day in advance. It is your responsibility to ensure you inform us of your correct ceremony & reception time plus the postcode of the venue. In the unlikely event of late delivery, the maximum compensation will be a refund of the delivery price.
Late requests for delivery (after securing the booking based on collection) will be accommodated where possible, but cannot be guaranteed, as earlier delivery commitments must take priority.
Cake Set Up
It is the clients’ responsibility to ensure arrangements are made for the cake table, linen, cake
stand & knife, which should all be set- up prior to our arrival, (unless there is an agreement that we will liaise with the venue on your behalf). If any delay is incurred due to these not being in place, we reserve the right to charge for any delay incurred (labour costs at £25 per hour, plus any compensation required to pay to other brides whose wedding cake delivery has been delayed as a result) or leave the cake with the event manager to assemble / move into position as appropriate. Please take extra care to ensure a stable cake table if you are having a marquee wedding, as surrounding floor boards can easily rock the cake once stood on.
Bespoke Design Cakes:
Please be aware that while we are happy for customers to send photographs of the type of cake design they’d like, we will not create an exact replica of another designer’s work. We will however, be happy to create a similar design with our own spin.
