We operate our business with integrity and professionalism.
This includes:
• Compliance with all relevant food hygiene, health and safety and trading regulations
• Maintaining appropriate business insurance
• Transparent contracts, quotations and payment terms
• Responsible management of customer information
Reducing Waste
As a made-to-order business, every cake is individually designed and produced to meet specific customer requirements, helping to minimise food waste and unnecessary production.
We achieve this by:
• Ordering ingredients specifically for confirmed bookings wherever possible
• Careful production planning to minimise excess stock
• Reusing suitable packaging materials received from suppliers
• Recycling cardboard, paper, plastic and other waste streams wherever local facilities permit
Sustainable Sourcing
We aim to source ingredients and supplies responsibly and prioritise local suppliers whenever practical.
This includes:
• Supporting local and independent businesses
• Purchasing seasonal flowers and decorations where appropriate
• Using fresh eggs from our own free-range chickens whenever possible
• Choosing UK suppliers to reduce transportation miles where feasible
Energy Efficiency
Reducing energy consumption is an important part of our business operations.
We achieve this by:
• Utilising solar-generated electricity to support daily operations
• Scheduling baking and production activities during peak solar generation periods wherever possible
• Using energy-efficient multi-shelf ovens that allow multiple cakes to be baked simultaneously
• Planning production schedules carefully to maximise oven efficiency and reduce unnecessary energy use
Sustainable Transport
We are committed to reducing transport-related emissions.
This includes:
• Using an electric vehicle for cake deliveries where practical
• Charging our vehicle using solar-generated electricity whenever possible
• Planning delivery routes efficiently to minimise unnecessary travel
Social Responsibility - Supporting Local Communities
As a small independent business, we are proud to contribute to the local economy through partnerships with local wedding venues, florists, photographers and other suppliers.

We recognise that sustainability is an ongoing journey, and we are committed to continually reviewing and improving the way we work.
To reduce our environmental impact and carbon footprint, we have already made a number of significant investments and changes to our business. These include:
* Investing in highly energy-efficient Miele ovens, which heat up quickly and reduce the amount of time they need to be in operation.
* Making a substantial investment in renewable energy through the installation of a photovoltaic solar panel array and battery storage.
* Adjusting our baking hours to make greater use of the electricity generated by our solar panels.
* Investing in an electric vehicle and transitioning to 100% electric vehicle deliveries for our cakes.
* During the summer months, when the majority of our deliveries take place, approximately 90% of our vehicle charging is powered by excess energy generated by our solar panels.
We are committed to reviewing our practices annually and identifying further opportunities to:
* Further reduce waste and unnecessary consumption
* Increase our use of renewable energy
* Improve the sustainability and recyclability of our packaging
* Support and source from additional local and UK suppliers
* Further reduce our overall carbon footprint
Our goal is to create beautiful, memorable cakes while making thoughtful and responsible choices that benefit our customers, our local community and the environment.
By embedding sustainability into our day-to-day operations, we aim to ensure that A Little Bit Naughty Cakes continues to grow responsibly, while maintaining the exceptional quality, creativity and service our customers expect.
Sustainability Goals Achieved in 2026
* 100% of our cake deliveries completed using our electric vehicle
* Increased solar-powered production hours to 75%
